Why

Your Kids Will Love It! Camp begins with an hour of yoga poses and friendship building games. After yoga, students are instructed in art & jewelry projects using a variety of mediums and techniques such as paint, wax, clay, beading, riveting, resin, copper etching, stamping, and wirework.

About The Day

A typical day in camp includes the following:

  • 8-9: Before Care simple art or jewelry projects
  • 9-9:15: Friendship Building Games
  • 9:15-10: Yoga Stretching & Movement Games
  • 10-10:20: Healthy Snack & Classroom Agreements
  • 10:20-11:30: Art, Jewelry Projects
  • 11:30-12:30: Lunch & Outdoor Play
  • 12:00: HALF DAY (Campers arrive/leave)
  • 12:30-2:50: Art, Jewelry Projects
  • 2:50-3: Clean Up & Pick Up
  • 3-6: Aftercare (Afternoon healthy snack, simple art & jewelry projects, indoor games, outdoor play)

Common Questions

  • Do I need to provide snacks and lunch? We will provide a healthy snack but we ask the parent to provide a bagged lunch (no nuts please).
  • How many teachers will there be? Our teacher to student ratio does not exceed 10:1 and is often much lower.
  • Who teaches these camps? Our Lead Camp counselors are permanent year-round employees of Dragonfly Designs who teach in our afterschool enrichment programs & host parties. Our wonderful staff are college educated & comply with California standards for working on school campuses including TB testing & background checks through DOJ & FBI.
  • My child has never (or has done a lot) of art & jewelry making. Is this camp a good fit for them? We group children by age & ability level & tailor projects to ensure they are developmentally appropriate & fun!
    • Art & Jewelry + Immersion camps are for ages 5-12
    • Textiles & Fiber Arts camps are for ages 7-14
  • I want to make sure my child is active during the day – do children play outside?  Yes! A typical day includes a variety of tasks to keep kids active. In addition to art, textiles & jewelry making they also will have time for yoga and outdoor free play time!
  • Do you offer before & aftercare? Before care 8:00 – 9:00am $18.00/day After camp care from 3-5. After 5pm: $1/minute for late pickups.

Art Exploration Camps & Classes with Dragonfly Designs

Your kids will love our Art Exploration camps which are often combined with our Jewelry Making Camps! Campers will be led on an adventurous exploration of art mediums such as, metal, clay, wax, wood, paper and leather to create innovative projects like painting on canvas and with watercolors, making candles and felted soap, mosaics, jewelry boxes and so much more. Unlock the power of creativity with Dragonfly Designs – get messy & have fun!

Cancellation & Change Policy

  • A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve your week in camp.
  • A non-refundable deposit of $25.00/day will be charged for registrations for single or half day camps.
  • Fully Funded Camps Cancellation Refund Policy = Refunds will be issued for remaining balance minus non-refundable deposit & 10% fee
  • Any remaining balance due for partially funded camps will be collected before the first day of camp (Cost of camp minus $100 deposit already paid).
  • Please be on time to pick up your child. After 3:15 pm parents pay for aftercare at $20.00/day. Camp ends at 6:00 pm – there is a $1.00/minute charge after 6 pm pickups; payable at pick up on late days

 

Change Requests for other program dates must be received in writing (via email) at least 7 days prior to your original program’s start date. All changes are subject to availability.

  • Changes to a program incur a $15 Administrative change fee
  • Registrations and fees are non-transferable to other accounts
  • We do not prorate or refund tuition for days missed due to illness or injury
  • Early bird special rates are forfeited upon request to transfer
