I love jewelry and have always been curious as to the steps people take to make it. A friend of mine mentioned she had taken a class and I was curious. I signed up for a beginner's class and now I am totally hooked. In the few weeks I have been attending classes, I have already made three bracelets and 4 pairs of earrings. Stacee at Dragonfly is an amazing teacher. She makes you feel welcome and comfortable right away. and it's a pleasure being with her. She has been gifted with tons of patience and she is clear in her explanations. She (and I) were worried we would have indigo dye everywhere, but we were both very impressed with the ability of the instructors to walk the students through the projects smoothly! "Just have to state that I would give 10 stars for this business and the service they provide. My daughter decided she wanted to make a bracelet for her grandma's birthday 3 days before. Stacee the owner not only answered her phone when we had questions about placing an order on her website, she was great with follow-up and addressing our needs! She also was flexible to get our 2 kits made up quickly so I could pick them up. She provided the amazing customer service that is rare these days with everything being remote and on-line. Then they also provide the option for a live zoom video session to help my daughter make the bracelet and get it going! When we ran into a challenge (just finishing the clasp), Stacee immediately set up a 5 min zoom session at that point. Giana was the person who did the zoom session and she was patient, supportive and fun and a great teacher. They did such a super job and instructing and zooming in to show each step. It's an easy project but for kids they do like the visual just in case. My daughter is so happy with the end results and did it all on her own (she's 8). Thank you Dragonfly Designs for all your great support and help! WE are grateful and definitely encourage others to do this project for a group, party, girl scouts or just individually to keep kids busy or make a gift for themselves or a family. With mother's day coming, it would be an amazing gift made from the heart! “My love for Dragonfly Designs started in late March after my school closed and we had to shelter in place. I found myself SO bored without any of my friends and afterschool activities. Then my mom signed me up for a Dragonfly virtual jewelry class, because my 8th birthday party was a Dragonfly party, and I loved it! I did the class with Dragonfly, and as expected, loved it! I thought it was fun because I enjoyed learning how to make jewelry that I could later wear or give to friends and family as gifts. I also enjoy learning how to make different styles of bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. I have learned how to make: berry bracelets (my favorite style), many two strand bracelets/necklaces, wire earrings, pre-made earrings, chokers, button bracelets, and much more. The teachers were also very helpful, when anyone has a question, they answer it almost immediately, and do a good job of demonstrating how to make the jewelry. Since the first class with them, I have taken many Dragonfly classes, such as Textiles and fiber arts, Color blocking jewelry, bodacious beachy beads, and more! I also like to make jewelry in my free time.”

My daughter just finished a week at this camp and she loved it! She got to make so many different pieces of jewelry: a chevron necklace, multiple chokers, and earrings. I love that the designs seemed complex, but my 8 year old was able to make them successfully. I really appreciated the teachers giving extra support when a child needed it to finish something. Another cool thing about the camp was that kids had a yoga break each day! They also had access to a beautiful backyard for breaks. I'm so glad we found this camp!

My team, a group of 20 data scientists and analysts who are not all exactly artistically inclined participated in a Zoom tie-dye session with Dragonfly Designs. It was a fun and stress-free experience. Dragonfly seamlessly mailed our supplies well in advance so they were ready the day of our Zoom sesh. The facilitators were kind, complementary, and enthusiastic. I know it can be tough to teach over Zoom, but the three of them did a great job giving a step-by-step how-to of MULTIPLE tie-dye techniques in the same session. It was so cool to make something physical with our hands (since we usually work on the computer all day) without actually being in the same room together.

Wow, these camps are fantastic! My 10-year-old daughter has done the Ocean Floor painting camp and the Beading Basics camp, and we have been thrilled with how well done they are. She learned amazing watercolor techniques in the first one, and beaded some lovely pieces in the second one. The teachers are outstanding, the kits are wonderful, and I only wish there were adult classes available! I can't recommend these camps highly enough!

I really enjoyed the 2 jewelry-making classes I took (@ the Foster City PJCC)--a lot of techniques were covered (in relatively little time) in a setting that was relaxed, engaging and flexible. I learned more than I expected. The instructor (artist/owner), Stacee Gillelen, is a warm & friendly, down-to-earth, creative person who made learning how to make various kinds of jewelry fun, and easier. Plus her work is beautiful--it's what attracted a lot of the students to the classes I took--so it was inspiring to learn from her. I'd recommend Stacee's classes in a heartbeat, as well as her designs.

We learned about Dragonfly Designs while on our local recreation center website looking for a virtual class my daughter could take over the summer. She had a blast in her Groovy Rainbows class! She loves doing art on textiles, so learning how to batik on a t-shirt was so much fun for her. She also loved getting to paint her own tote bag and learning how to embroider on it. Supplies needed for the class were shipped right to our door! Emily is an awesome instructor who was very kind and patient. She gave clear directions that made it easy for an 8-year-old to follow along with little assistance from me. Emily lives across the country from us and it was great for the kids to hear about what it was like in a different state. The class was an hour a day for one week, which was a perfect amount of time to work on a project without students losing focus. We look forward to checking out the other class offerings and will definitely be signing up with Dragonfly Designs again!

I loved that they talked through the history of macrame, showed some incredibly inspirational designs, and step by step instructions. I was a little hesitant about my ability to follow along in a virtual setting, but Hanna went over each step in depth while Carol popped details in our Zoom chat. They were more than happy to repeat steps and ensured that we were all following along. The end product was so great and I even have left over material for another project. I also really appreciate that all the materials were sent directly to my home as I live in a rural area and would have had a hard time getting those materials locally. I'll definitely recommend to other companies looking for a fun virtual team event!

My very slow to warm 6.5 year old daughter tried the Arts & Jewelry camp for the very first time, and she loved it! We did the Mandarin immersion version in the Mountain View location, which is held in the same room as the English version. The Mandarin teacher is bilingual, fluent in both languages, and she is super friendly. The owner's daughter also happened to be one of the teachers, who greatly surprised me with her fluent Mandarin! The Mountain View location is right next to a nice park, and the kids do get outdoor times as well. We'll definitely return next summer, likely for multiple weeks.

It was such a well-planned event. The box of supplies was delivered promptly and included a well organized kit of supplies. It was a great break from the work day. Both Elizabeth and Carol were so kind and helpful during our snowflake making class. I highly recommend for group events.

Hi! We are having so much fun with this camp! My 2 girls completed their first class. It was amazing what they learned. They created the most beautiful high quality jewelry. They learned so much. I wear what they created daily. After expending their creative energy, they expended their physical energy hiking and playing. It was an amazingly well rounded program. My girls have done many camps.
