Maggie is an art instructor at our camps and parties. She’s one of our art and jewelry experts here at Dragonfly Designs! She says her favorite part of her job is teaching children how to make jewelry. She loves showing them the projects, and then helping them find their own spark of interest and investment for themselves! She loves getting kids stoked on the different designs and projects. Her favorite ones to teach are necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. She loves teaching fun charms, too! Pretty much anything involving beads, and Maggie’s there for it!
Outside of work, Maggie likes to play all sports, snowboard, scuba dive, camp, and hike! She stays super active!
Something she finds interesting is learning the differences between Chinese and American cultures. One thing she’s found interesting recently is that Americans say their first names followed by their last names. In China, you say someone’s last name first, and then their first name! If we were to say Maggie’s Chinese name like an American, we would say Yu Zhang. Maggie’s Chinese friends, however, call her Zhang Yu! Her Chinese name means “octopus,” so when she was little, she was nicknamed “Little Octopus.” Isn’t that the cutest!? What a great nickname!
