Everyone had so much fun learning something new and being an artist in this workshop! I appreciated the time the host took to meet with me in advance to make sure all of our needs were met.

My daughter loved the online macramé class with Ms. Carol and Ms. Elizabeth! She learned a new craft and already made another macramé on her own.
Thank you for offering these online art camps! They're wonderful!

“Unfortunately, our 2020 in-person summer camp was cancelled due to COVID, big surprise! Dragonfly pivoted by converting all their classes to an online format. I liked that I could create my own design and the teacher would help me make it Instead of assigning me a project."

(Written by 11 yr old): BEST CAMP EVER!!!!! I mean, wow! I had such a fun time and the place is so cozy and nice. It looks really unassuming because it is in a residential neighborhood but it is a great business and their camp is so fun!!! They even do parties at your house! Awesome place.

I really enjoyed the 2 jewelry-making classes I took (@ the Foster City PJCC)--a lot of techniques were covered (in relatively little time) in a setting that was relaxed, engaging and flexible. I learned more than I expected.
The instructor (artist/owner), Stacee Gillelen, is a warm & friendly, down-to-earth, creative person who made learning how to make various kinds of jewelry fun, and easier. Plus her work is beautiful--it's what attracted a lot of the students to the classes I took--so it was inspiring to learn from her.
I'd recommend Stacee's classes in a heartbeat, as well as her designs.

"My daughter (age 9) has been taking DD's afterschool jewelry making class all year. She and her friends absolutely love it! It is her favorite afterschool activity by far and the jewelry she has learned to make is outstanding. I highly recommend DD's afterschool classes as well as their birthday parties (we did one of those too and it was great!)."

My 2 girls completed their first class. It was amazing what they learned. They created the most beautiful high quality jewelry. They learned so much. I wear what they created daily. After expending their creative energy, they expended their physical energy hiking and playing. It was an amazingly well rounded program.
My girls have done many camps. This has been the most fun they have had!
They can't wait to do it again.
I would highly recommend this camp again and again and again!

This studio and its owner, Stacee, are wonderful. Stacee is a master of many beading techniques, and a master of patience, too! She is well-equipped to teach students the art of beading, and she has many beautiful pieces for sale as well. All of her work is outstanding and gorgeous. You can't go wrong here!

My very slow to warm 6.5 year old daughter tried the Arts & Jewelry camp for the very first time, and she loved it! We did the Mandarin immersion version in the Mountain View location, which is held in the same room as the English version. The Mandarin teacher is bilingual, fluent in both languages, and she is super friendly. The owner's daughter also happened to be one of the teachers, who greatly surprised me with her fluent Mandarin!
The Mountain View location is right next to a nice park, and the kids do get outdoor times as well. We'll definitely return next summer, likely for multiple weeks.

My daughter took the batik/tie dye class this week. She (and I) were worried we would have indigo dye everywhere, but we were both very impressed with the ability of the instructors to walk the students through the projects smoothly! She had a great time and really enjoyed it! It has been a great Feb break class!

“Dragonfly Designs was the perfect summer activity choice for my child during shelter-in-place. She loved interacting with her teachers, all of whom were fun, calm, encouraging, and skilled artists. She came away from class happy, refreshed and proud of her new skills. In her most recent class, Winter Wonderland, she learned how to draw arctic animals both head-on and in profile and was excited to expand her menagerie of cute animals she can draw. I highly recommend Dragonfly Designs! We've taken two excellent classes with them this summer. They are a highly professional organization that connects kids to the joy of art.”

“I was searching for a jewelry making summer camp for my 7-year-old who is a beginner but has been tinkering on her own. Dragonfly's Beading Basics class seemed to be just what she needed to learn the lingo, tools and basic techniques. On all fronts, the Dragonfly Designs team has been spot on - from outlining the offerings and what is needed to seamlessly navigating the technology, and managing the instruction with clarity and care. She enjoyed making bracelets, earrings, and an anklet in this week-long, 60-minute daily class. Thank you!"

“Wow! I love to see my girl creating new bracelets and earrings. I love that everything is sent to your house. Jade loves to bead and it is important for math skills (pattern), precision (fine motor skills), as well as helping her improve her writing and fine grasping. Having a teacher is so important at the moment. She needs an adult figure apart from her mum. She is so proud of her accomplishment and has fun making her own jewelry. Her teacher gives praise often and always answers her questions kindly. We are exploring more camps to keep being creative this summer. Thank you!”

We learned about Dragonfly Designs while on our local recreation center website looking for a virtual class my daughter could take over the summer. She had a blast in her Groovy Rainbows class! She loves doing art on textiles, so learning how to batik on a t-shirt was so much fun for her. She also loved getting to paint her own tote bag and learning how to embroider on it. Supplies needed for the class were shipped right to our door! Emily is an awesome instructor who was very kind and patient. She gave clear directions that made it easy for an 8-year-old to follow along with little assistance from me. Emily lives across the country from us and it was great for the kids to hear about what it was like in a different state. The class was an hour a day for one week, which was a perfect amount of time to work on a project without students losing focus. We look forward to checking out the other class offerings and will definitely be signing up with Dragonfly Designs again!

"I just wanted to tell you how AMAZING your classes have been for my daughter this summer. I am honestly blown away. I plan on writing a review for you on Yelp. I am so, so thankful she has had something like this and every single teacher has been phenomenal. What a strange time especially for these kids but this has been a great outlet. Please share with your team! Specifically Agnes as well as teacher Tammy have really been incredible with Olivia!
We are also thinking about doing a virtual party for my daughter for her 8th birthday."
